News and Announcements
The 2018 Box Lacrosse season is soon to begin, and we again are looking for awesome coaches for all our Peninsula teams. Are you interested in becoming a coach for the young players from your neighborhood?
We are interested to hear from you if you are interested in becoming a new coach, or are a seasoned coach, or would like to be part of the coaching team!
You would need to establish a regular once-weekly practice time with your team, probably at Saanichton lacrosse box or Panorama recreation centre, and also attend games. There are around 16 league games which will be scheduled for evenings and weekends, home and away between April and July, and perhaps some exhibition games too.
A community coach strives to do the following:
¥ Encourage young athletes to be active and to have fun;
¥ plan purposeful practices and create engaging activities;
¥ lead their participants in developing gross motor skills;
¥ help participants identify how to improve their performance by providing constructive criticism and advice;
¥ manage problems by making ethical and respectful decisions
¥ enable safe participation by creating a safe environment
¥ teach others how to respect themselves, others, and their sport.
In short, when you become a coach, you help others reach higher, both in sport and in life!
If you are interested in becoming an awesome coach this season, or would like more information, please contact the association by email: Penlax.email@example.com
It has been a few years since Peninsula has been represented at the Junior level. With strong classes of graduating midget players over the past few years, there is a great group of individuals willing to support and operate a team of Junior B Warriors. The lifeblood of the this organization is the players. If you are born between the years of 2001 and 1997 and want to play lacrosse this season, click below to let us know. This will also give us a way to keep you in the loop about news as things go forward.
If you have any questions, or want to get involved, email: firstname.lastname@example.org
