THOSE WHO CAN, DO. THOSE WHO CAN DO MORE, VOLUNTEER - UNKNOWN
Peninsula Lacrosse Association has depended on volunteers for all of its existence and would not be where it is today without them.
It is those in the sport, or those that just have a desire to give back that have made PenLax a successful association that continues to pursue a commitment to high coaching standards, sense of fair play, inclusiveness and FUN. PenLax needs over 30 volunteers, including its board of Executives, to spend countless hours of their own time on tasks such as coaching, managing and participating in mandatory British Columbia Lacrosse Association (BCLA) and Vancouver Island Minor Lacrosse Commission (VIMLC) activities.
PenLax feels that it is important for those within the sport to play a large role in how the association is run, and also for anyone to contribute their knowledge and expertise to help PenLax best serve the lacrosse community. PenLax has come a long way, but we couldn’t have done it without our amazing volunteers!
“There is no “I” in team, but we sure are glad there is “u” in volunteers!"
Most people just share quotes about kindness and generosity on Facebook. To all of our volunteers, that have helped in so many different ways, Thanks for volunteering.
The majority of the board of Executives is elected annually at the AGM (Nov 6th 6:30pm, Centennial Park Fieldhouse). The Executive job descriptions can be found on the Executive tab in the main menu. Coach Applications are sought in the new year, with managers at season start.
